There are 2 major kind of Facebook pages: Community pages and Official Facebook pages.
Community pages are meant to generate support for a good cause or topic. If the page becomes very popular, it will be adopted and maintained from the Facebook community.
Official Facebook pages are the normal pages. The official pages are again divided in 3 categories:
1) for a local business
2) for a brand, product or organization
3) for an artist, band or local figure
Depending on what category you choose, your Facebook page will provide space for different kind of information in the information tab. For example, if you choose “for a local business” you will have in your information tab the opportunity to put the address of your business, your opening times and if there is parking available. If you choose “for a brand, product or organization,” you will not have those options, but you will have space for personal information, interests and your mission statement.
Once you have chosen what kind of page you want to create and you clicked on the “create page” button, you can’t change it anymore. So, think carefully about what kind of information you want to display in your information tab and then make the right decision to what kind of page you want to create.
